Preventive care is at the heart of everything we do at Pediatric Dental Studios. During your child’s six-month visit, our team will examine their smile, take any necessary X-rays, and clean their teeth. Along with great at-home oral hygiene, six-month visits help prevent cavities and gum disease.
If your child is cavity-prone or you want more peace of mind, fluoride treatments are a great option. In this treatment, Dr. Jimmy will “paint” a thin layer of fluoride-rich liquid onto your child’s teeth, then rinse it away after a few minutes. This helps rebuild your little one’s enamel and reduces their cavity risk.
Sealants are another great option for fighting back against cavities. They consist of a thin layer of transparent resin that’s applied directly to your little one’s teeth. Dr. Jimmy will apply this resin in liquid form, then harden it using a UV light. This creates a strong barrier that virtually eliminates the risk of cavities in treated teeth.
At our office, we offer both tooth-colored fillings and zirconia crowns for kids. Fillings are typically the best way to treat minor-to-moderate cavities and prevent further tooth damage. Crowns may be a better option for large cavities, and are also usually the best option for repairing cracked, damaged, or infected teeth.
We offer both minimal nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation and deep IV sedation. Laughing gas is great for kids who need a little bit of help being brave at the dentist, and makes kids feel much more relaxed during their visit. On the other hand, IV sedation is great for kids with lots of dental anxiety. With IV sedation, your child will be able to sleep through their entire visit, and they won’t even remember what happened during their appointment with Dr. Jimmy.
